Hottest Gadgets of the Week #2
Hi there! Here is the second edition of ThatWasHot’s Hottest Gadgets of the Week. I am sorry for the little delay of this post because my internet connection bugged down this weekend. Maybe it is because of the hotness of this site. Hehe.
In this post, prepare yourself again to see some mind-blowing innovative ideas of gadget makers in their desire to change the current trends and set our perspective of saying “That was HOT!”
First on this week’s list is Fujitsu Lifebook N7010. This 16:9 notebook has a decent specification running with Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26GHz, ATI Radeon HD 3470 256MB GDDR3 graphics, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD and a Blu-ray drive. And of course it also has the basic add-ons on today’s notebook such as bluetooth, wifi, and built-in camera. But this is not the main course of this baby because it has a 4-inch touchscreen embedded above the keyboard. This is a new feature from Fujitsu notebook that they call, “Touch Zone.” You can put your media player button in this extension screen and also your chat box. Now, you will no longer minimize your main workplace while chatting in this hot gadget. [Source]
Second on the list is this small, tiny wireless-N Adapter, the GW-USMicronN from Planex. Though most of laptops today have built in wifi, this gadget is very much handy if you have old laptops and even for your desktop computer to get rid of those clustery wires.
Comparing the features to its DLink counterpart DWA160, this tiny gadget surely delivers. It doesn’t perform less than to its big daddy though its only 1/6 in size. Another big feat is that it is compatible with Xlink Kai, a network protocol used by game consoles such as XBOX, PS3, PSP and others. Surely, this gadget is small but not terrible. [Source]
Last on this week’s hottest is the cute TOMY xiao TIP-521 Digital Camera. Being cute is not the reason why it’s hot but simply because it is the first of its kind – a digital camera and ZINK printer in one.
This digital camera has decent features of a regular digital camera with 5.0 megapixels and 4x digital zoom. It has 16MB internal memory and supports SD/SDHC memory cards. But of course, the great thing in this gadget is its built-in camera. One big question? How will I put ink in it? The answer, you don’t need to put ink in it. It is going to be messy if we should. The camera’s printer is powered by ZINK Zero Ink Printing Technology and prints 2″x3″ borderless water-proof photos. The only catch is that you need to add ZINK Paper for your camera. If this becomes available in our country, I’ll buy one for my better half. [Source]
So that ends this week’s HOTTEST GADGETS OF THE WEEK. Wait again next week for another set of gadgets that will certainly drop your jaw in awe. But before we close this post, there is one gadget this week that I can consider innovative because it is totally unique though it cracked by mouth with laugh and can’t imagine myself using it. Check this out, and decide for yourself.
This is not just an umbrella. This is Oto-Shigure, high tech umbrella that functions as a personal speaker system developed by Keio University and IT company Toa Engineering. As funny and crazy as it sounds, this entire object emits sound when connected to a portable media player. I cannot really understand the overall physics of this tech but it claims that it will not disturb your surroundings because the sound will only be heard underneath the umbrella. Lovers, sweet ehh.
If the public’s response into this tech is good, they plan to sell this audio umbrella next year for around $100. [Source]
Do you like this umbrella? Will you use it in public? What can you say to this week’s Hottest Gadgets? Post it in the comments section.
